Red White and Blue Biscuits

Easy one bowl recipe. Perfect for 4th of July brunch or for any special occasion!

2    Cups All Purpose Flour
¼   Cup Granulated Sugar
2    Tsp Baking Powder
½   Tsp Salt
4    Tbs Unsalted Butter (cold)
1½ Cups Buttermilk
1    Cup Blueberries (fresh or frozen)
½   Cup Cranberries (fresh or frozen)
2    Tbs Granulated Sugar for Topping

Preheat oven to 350 Degrees

In a large bowl, stir together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.

With a pastry cutter, blend in cold butter until mixture resembles course crumbs.

Stir in fruit.

Make a well in the center and gradually stir in buttermilk until just blended. Dough should be sticky. 

Drop by teaspoonful onto baking sheet that has been sprayed with non stick spray. Sprinkle tops evenly with remaining sugar.   

Bake for approximately 15 - 20 minutes or until golden brown. 

Serve warm.  Can be reheated.
